The BackBlast:

4 PAX Converged on The Warrior gloom for a Pinto proctored IPC Week 4 Beatdown titled “MaryAnne’s Mayhem”, and mayhem it certainly was.  YHC gave the PAX the choice to complete the workout in the grass or to keep their tender piggies dry and use the parking lot instead.    Since the PAX decided that trench foot was not to be on the menu; I measured out 25 yards in the parking lot and set out cones.

The Disclaimer was then given, and a quick warmup was initiated consisting of SSH x20 IC, Arm Circles x15 IC, Circle-Arms x15 IC and Weed Pickers x20 IC.

YHC then set a timer for the allocated 52:30 and started spinning some 90’s rock as a soundtrack for our Pain.  The Thang then commenced:

Format

  • Rep-based workout
  • Set the timer for 52 minutes 30 seconds
  • Measure out 25 yards

Exercises are to be done in sets of 25 reps. After completing 25 reps, run to the cone that is 25 yards away and do 3 burpees. After the 3 burpees, run back and continue with exercise.

Exercises

  • 200 curls
  • 175 squats
  • 150 Overhead Press
  • 125 Kettlebell Swings
  • 100 Merkins
  • 75 Thrusters
  • 50 Bonnie Blairs (right leg-left leg = 1 rep)
  • 25 Blockees

If you finish all of the exercises, repeat in reverse order from the last time you just did it.

The burpees DO NOT count in your rep count.

900 reps is the total if you get through all of the exercises.

Foxhole wasn’t sure if the squats were supposed to be with the coupon or not; and although I was pretty sure that they were not.  We decided to modify up just to be sure (we didn’t want to not get credit).   This may have hindered our final totals.  With that said; Foxhole made it well into the Bonnie Blairs, Dutch and I cranked out most/all of the Kettlebell Swings, and Flounder made it into them as-well.

All PAX did an amazing job!  A tear would have come to my eye if there had been enough liquid left in my body to form a tear!
