Warmup:

Arm Circles IC 15
Circle Arms IC 15
Imperial Walker IC 20
Weed Pickers IC 20
Mosey

The Thang:

“Circle of Pain” … PAX typically recover on their feet in-between sets of an exercise, but sometimes if you want to feel the entirety of the burn you have to recover (for very short periods of time) in position.  As such PAX completed each of the following exercises (while in a circle), recovering in plank (briefly) between exercises …

Merkin IC 20
Mountain Climber IC 20
Alt Shoulder Tap IC 20
Plank Jack IC 20

Then the main event commenced, the core of the “Descending Burptaan Death Mosey of Doom” beatdown.  PAX each dispersed semi evenly around the longer mosey loop at the park.

Each PAX then began doing the following exercises in-succession (without rest): 10x Merkins, 10x LBC, 10x Alt. Shoulder Tap, 10x Squats.

The first Pax (with the wooden “Burpton of Doom”)  completed 10 Burpees, then moseyed to the second PAX along the trail.   That first PAX then commenced with the same 4 exercise loop while the second PAX completed his 10 Burpees.  That second PAX then proceeded to the third PAX and continued is 4 exercise loop while that PAX did his Burpees (and so-on).  Once all PAX had completed the round of Burpees, the Burpees count then descended by 1 (each PAX was only then doing 9 Burpees); decreasing by one with each round.

The PAX completed 3 complete rounds around the loop.  Double D then suggested that we do a Mosey around the loop, collecting each of the PAX, still doing their 4 exercise rotation.  All-told, hundreds of each exercise was completed by each PAX.

Reflection: Why this steady monotonous exercise grind?  Sometimes life can feel a bit like that grind, moving from one day to the next, but each day we force ourselves to get stronger and better (in all ways).  The 4 exercises represent that daily grind, but the burpees, well that’s the percentage we give each day to make ourselves better (even when it’s hard, and even when it feels like it sucks or that it’s a little bit painful).

COT: Prayers for PAX with family dealing with sickness and health issues.  Prayers for our brothers and their families that are traveling.  Strudel called out that as we get caught up in the rat-race of the holiday season, that we should remember to make sure we keep the true reason for the season in our hearts and minds.

Aside, Dutch said that YHC might be a sadist and offered to beat me with the “Burpton of Doom”.   He noted that he is curious as to why, in the photo, he has an expression is if he had just seen Santa’s Sleigh?  I think he might just have been delirious from all of the endorphins.
