The BackBlast:

The weather was so cold at the Arrowhead that the flag couldn’t break through the ground. Cold would be an understatement.

One lone rucker ventured around the area while the four runners went for a slightly longer than normal (5.2 – 5.7 mi.) run. Due to the ice, we stayed off of the trails, and stuck mainly to the roads. Some roads were a little busy for comfort, but overall a good run. After turning onto Yoder Rd, we realized that we successfully found the Lower Salford Poler Vortex… luckily, no one suffered from frost bite!

Run Route:

  • Starting at Flags – Heading out to Park, made a LEFT on Park
  • Made LEFT onto Kulp Rd.
  • Made RIGHT onto Yoder Rd., Quick LEFT back onto Kulp Rd.
  • Made RIGHT onto Schoolhouse
  • Stayed on Schoolhouse for 1 mile, made a RIGHT on Cassell Rd.
  • Stayed on Cassell Rd. for ¾ Mile, made a RIGHT onto Fretz Rd.
  • Made quick RIGHT onto Yoder Rd. (entered Poler Vortex!)
  • Stayed on Yoder for 1 mile, made a LEFT onto Kulp Rd.
  • At Gruber Rd., picked up path near Community Center and headed back to Flags.
